Sonoscanner launches the ‘Spectacular’ Fifth Generation U-Lite at the RSNA.

Paris, Friday, November 23, 2018 –Sonoscanner, Europe’s leading manufacturer of portable and ultraportable diagnostic ultrasound systems announces the new, fifth generation U-Lite, a full featured, digital autooptimizing system with 11* interchangeable transducers for every clinical application , anywhere.

The Fifth Generation U-Lite has a unique, integrated digital manager for continuous optimization of pulse contours, image reconstruction, and feature enhancing signal processing. It will handle all conventional clinical uses. The promise of the U-Lite is its potential for creating new uses for ultrasound. This has already been the case with super low noise and high frame rate presets and transducers that achieve submillimeter axial and lateral resolution and a standardized gray scale display while retaining penetration”.

Bruno Richard, MD, PhD, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Sonoscanner, said that the ultraportable, tablet sized U-Lite was designed from the beginning for real life medical use especially the demanding settings of academic and private practice Radiology and Nuclear Imaging. “

“We are thrilled to be returning to the RSNA with our software evolved, fifth generation U-Lite”, says Etienne Richard, Director of Operations for Sonoscanner. “The U-Lite is the most advanced tablet sized unit in the world, which is appropriate to the technical and educational cutting edge nature of the RSNA. Our beta sites regard the new platform as Spectacular. We are proud and humbled to contribute to the good that ultrasound users do globally every day”.

The U-Lite will be available for registrants to use themselves in the hands-on workshops:

SONOSCANNER is a French Company, headquartered in Paris, specialized in the conception and manufacture of ultrasound scanners that began manufacturing and marketing its proprietary devices in 2003, initially with a CE mark for European distribution and soon after with FDA, Canadian, and other regulatory approvals. There are now more than 2500 award winning U-Lites in routine daily use. The mission of Sonoscanner is peer to peer contribution and collaboration in advancing medical care globally for systems and locally for individual practitioners. From its inception, Sonoscanner has pioneered dynamic, digital engineering focused specifically on the needs of medical users.

In recognition of the evolving needs of healthcare, SONOSCANNER has focused on highest performance approaches in mobile platforms and complete, self contained ultraportables, for deployment wherever and whenever ultrasound may be needed. The equipment is app based, and relies on a unique set of presets related to pathology and pathophysiology, in contrast to other equipment that is optimized for ‘normal’ anatomy. SONOSCANNER was chosen by NASA and the CNES to equip the International Space Station during Thomas Pesquet’s mission in 2017.
